Heroes is a TV series on the NBC Network.  Heroes follows the lives of ordinary people that find they have super-powers.  Some of the people handle their new found powers quite well and others have a hard time dealing with the abnormal problems that come with them.  As in all sci-fi type shows, there are villains that want to rule the world.  Heroes is no exception.  There are actually quite a few layers that add to the drama of the show. 

Heroes has quite the cast count, which allows the series to go in different directions.  By the end of the 'volume' (Heroes calls the story arc a volume...there could be two volumes in a season) the main characters usually come together and fight the evil villain(s).  The interesting part of the show is that it not only has some great sci-fi elements...but it also has character depth.  These two elements allow the show to appeal to all. 

Some of the 'powers' that the characters discover are...flying, time travel, visions of the future, freezing anything, super strength, turning metal into gold, controlling the weather...along with many many others.  Heroes has a comic book type feel and they bring that element into the show quite a bit.  X-Men fans will also see some similar characters and super-powers.
