Kyle XY follows the main character, a boy named Kyle, after he awakens in a forest with amnesia. Kyle is taken in by the Trager family and they help Kyle with adjusting to modern life...along with trying to remember who he is. The series slowly unravels the overall mythology of the show by showing viewers that Kyle is part of a Government experiment and he has 'special powers'. It's also obvious that Kyle is different. Kyle lacks a navel and it's often showed to the viewers...just to remind us.
Kyle XY was a surprise hit on ABC Family for it's first year. The writing and character development is quite surprising, considering that the series was originally created for a very young audience. Kyle XY is a very unique series. It can keep the interest of adults and it is save enough for children to watch right along with you. Those series are hard to come by.
