Northern Exposure aired on the CBS Network for six seasons starting in 1990. The series follows a small town in Alaska, giving way for the name "Northern Exposure".

Northern Exposure was a 'surprise' hit series that centered around a fish-out-of-water character named Joel Fleischman (Rob Morrow). Joel moves to Alaska from the continental United States (NYC) and must adjust to the different way of life while paying off a medical student loan. Not only is the weather a huge adjustment, but so are the people. It's a quirky series that takes time developing it's characters into those you care about. Joel meets a woman, Maggie O'Connell (Janine Turner) which allows for some plot twists. Northern Exposure is more of a comedy-drama series and you won't find your police/detective mysteries here. It's a fun show that fans still adore. There is even a yearly 'Moosefest' in which fans of the show gather along with some cast members each July.
Northern Exposure DVD sets even come in cool little jackets to keep with the cold Alaska theme.
