Playstation3 is a great device if you are in the market for a new BluRay player.  The new 'slim' design works well with your HDTV and is now $100 less than it was just a few months ago.  The hard drive itself is also a little larger.  Playstation3 is not only a gaming system...it's an 'entertainment' hub.  You can play all kinds of media files on the system and even hook it up to your home network.  HD Pictures look awesome too.  Just ask my friends when they had to sit through my Las Vegas pictures.

Sony did a great job when they thought the Playstation3 through.  The only thing that hurt it...was the price.  Now that the price is around $299, it's becoming quite 'affordable'.  You get so much for your money.  The PS3 is so advanced that game developers are only now figuring out how to unlock the systems power.  This means that games will improve even more as time goes on.  The BluRay player in the machine is also a gem.  Since the PS3 hooks up to the internet (via hardwire or WiFi), the BluRay software (firmware) can be constantly updated.  This is a MUST when you are shopping for a BluRay Player.

Playstation3 also has some unique features that are not found on any other 'gaming' system.  When connected to the internet...you can surf the web, have access to Sony's HOME (which is kind of like Second Life) and buy cool stuff from the Sony Store.  The store has all kinds of games that will be a hit with anyone of all ages...'old school' and new.  You can even buy movies to download or rent in standard or HD (High Definition).  Did you miss your favorite TV show?  No problem...you can download it at the Sony Store.

Sony has some cool accessories for the PS3 as well.  The controllers are now wireless and rechargeable.  They have 'motion' sensors inside so they can detect some movement (not as advanced at the Wii, but still pretty cool).  The 'EYE' is a camera that attaches to the system...making the PS3 a computer that has motion recognition.  There are some cool games that are paired with the EYE...and we hear there is a new 'motion capture' controller on the way very soon that will make the Wii old fashioned.

Sure, there are a few things that Sony needs to change....like get an agreement with Netflix....but for an all inclusive entertainment hub, the Sony Playstation3 can't be beat.
