Roseanne aired on the ABC Network for nine seasons (1988 - 1997).

Roseanne was a situation comedy that followed Roseanne and Dan Connor and their family. The Connors were a typical 'blue collar' family and the series was based on the stand-up comedy of Roseanne Barr (who also stared in the series). The series was a breakthrough for comedy as it was more 'gritty' and 'real' than most shows at the time. The plots also were a bit more controversial than most.  From domestic abuse to drug abuse...they cover it all.

The series did it's best on trying to stay fresh. Guest stars, controversial topics and some touching emotional scenes all make Roseanne the type of show that will be known as a classic. It's always a fun ride to see what the series will do next when you watch a season.  One season they swapped out the actor that plays the Connors daughter Becky.  They soon make fun of it while watching an episode of Bewitched and making a comment like "oh come on...they really think we didn't notice they switched Darrins?  How stupid."
