Schoolhouse Rock! aired on ABC between 1972 and 1986. Schoolhouse Rock! aired during the Saturday Morning time slot, during the children's cartoon programming hours.

Schoolhouse Rock! is actually a collection of animated 'shorts' (about three minutes each) and was inserted into children's Saturday Morning cartoons. While in regular rotation between 1972 - 1986, ABC stopped airing it until the 1990's. They even produced a few new Schoolhouse Rock! shorts during the 1993 and 1996 seasons. ABC cancelled Schoolhouse Rock! in 2001.

Schoolhouse Rock! was a great tool that combined animation and song to teach kids all kinds of school subjects. It made it fun to learn and the songs made the content easy to remember. The shows creator David McCall, is said to have created the show when he watched his own children struggle with multiplication tables. From there, the series took off. Schoolhouse Rock! covers all kinds of topics, such as: grammar, science, economics, history, mathematics, and politics.

If you grew up watching Schoolhouse Rock! these DVDs are a fun trip down memory lane. If you have kids of your own, they still hold up fairly well and can be used as a great educational tool. They even offer DVD sets that are interactive which is perfect for kids.
