The O.C. follows the lives of teenagers living in Newport Beach, California which is in Orange County (O.C.). When The O.C. first aired in 2003, is was one of the most watched new dramas. The series main character is troubled teen Ryan Atwood. He is adopted by a wealthy family in the O.C. and Ryan must struggle to 'fit in'. He is surrounded by wealth and a lifestyle he is not used to. The series tackles many topics that would have been off-limits 10 years earlier. It shows just how much times have changed. The O.C. manages to entertain and teach a lesson or two.
The O.C. is noted for bringing back the teen and young adult drama series. The series is also known for having a great music selection on the show and even has released some soundtracks CDs.
