Twin Peaks was one of the hottest shows of the early 1990's. Twin Peaks got everyone asking - "Who killed Laura Palmer?" Twin Peaks centers around the murder of a popular, well liked high school girl named Laura Palmer. Her murder was brutal and for a small town in Washington, had everyone on edge. The murder investigation was led by Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) and the series followed Cooper as he unraveled the mystery of who killed Laura Palmer.
Twin Peaks was a very unique series. At the end of each episode, viewers were left with some sort of big plot twist or cliffhanger. Along with the endings, the actual series had a reputation of being a bit 'off-center'. Some of the scenes didn't make much sense to the casual viewer, which is something that led to it's popularity. Twin Peaks even offered the actors a chance to improvise some of the lines, which always makes for an interesting result. Unfortunately, they tried to change the formula a bit too much and viewer numbers dropped in it's second season and Twin Peaks was canceled. The series spawned a prequel feature film named Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me in 1992.
