Wonder Woman first aired on the ABC Network as 2-hour movies and 11 episodes. ABC did not commit to ordering additional seasons, so producers took the series to CBS. CBS then picked up Wonder Woman for two more seasons.

Wonder Woman is based on the DC Character of the same name. Wonder Woman was actually Princess Diana/Diana Prince from Paradise Island, home of the beautiful Amazonian women. The first season of Wonder Woman is actually set around the time of World War II. A military pilot crashes on Paradise Island and Diana falls for him. While taking the pilot (Major Steve Trevor) back to the United States, Diana decides to stay. However, her 'patriotic' uniform and 'special powers' make her gain too much attention. Princess Diana then decides to go undercover as Diana Prince and is soon Major Steve Trevor's new Secretary.

Season two found a major change. A move from ABC to CBS and a story shift...moving the story into the present time. The stories moved away from Nazi threats...to more Sci-Fi based villains. Wonder Woman's costume remained the same along with her magic lasso (forces the person tied with it to tell the truth), her bullet deflecting bracelets and boomerang-type head piece. She also possessed super-strength and flew around in that signature 'invisible plane'.
While the series was only on for three seasons, it holds a special place in TV History for many Americans. The theme song is still very recognizable...along with the actress Lynda Carter who played Wonder Woman. There is even talks about a feature film brewing. The set is a perfect addition to your 1970's series collection.
